Massage Styles

Deep Tissue/Sports

This style of massage combines a deeper, but still comfortable, pressure using slower sustained strokes to reach deeper layers of muscles and connective tissue. This provides relief from chronic tension, breaks down scar tissue, aids in recovery from physical stress to the body, increases flexibility and improves blood flow. If you are an athlete, this type of massage will help keep you in peak condition, aiding in recovery. Muscle compression and Passive stretching may be used based on related needs.

Relaxation or Swedish

A whole body massage treatment that uses long, smooth strokes or gentle kneading to help reduce muscle tension and create a state of calmness in the mind and body. Aids in feeling ultimate relaxation, and releases old, negative energy to feel more grounded and connected in your mind and body.

Pediatric Touch Therapy

Touch is the very first sense to be developed in utero. It is the sense that is most developed at birth, and is critical for healthy development. The abundance or lack of touch we receive in our childhood shapes our emotional balance, physiological well being and our capacity to live a healthy, normal life. (Equally documented are the effects of touch deprivation for hospitalized children.) Overall, evidence that massage provides global benefits to a child’s health far outweighs any evidence of negative affects.
